Stop and stare at this amazing Met Gala 2018 Fashion

To say that I love fashion, that, we can all agree by now is a slowly induced mockery of my hobbies, to say the least😂. Fashion is life to me and with all the activities going on in the media especially at the start of the year - the awards and the ever flamboyant red carpet majesty and regality, one(  especially me and others like me) cannot but bath in the glory of its beauty.

The Met Gala 2018 is undeniably one of the most fashionable night of fashion and of 2018 so far.  Its usually held on the first Monday of May and this year was a special one as it marked the event's 70th anniversary and your favourite stars were out and about to show off their most angelic and favourite looks for this year's theme of Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

Now, I have to let you in on this bit about awards, I realised a few years ago when people cursed out at actresses and actors on the red carpet for wearing outfits that they didn't just understand that it was as a result of certain facts that most of
these people did not understand that these awards have themes. Meaning that some stars were only dressing up according to the theme of the night and not just trying to look Extra on the red carpet, although we cannot generally wipe out the idea that some stars also go out of their way to get the extra look for the sake of it or because they want to use the occasion to pass on a message -this is the realm of Lady Gaga. But of course there was also just bad fashion choice. So now you know! Moving on, here are some looks you won't want to miss!

Rihanna:  Always glamming up in all most Gala events, one can say that Rihanna is a show stopper at the Gala and has established herself as the unofficial queen of the Met Gala Ball. Remember her imperial yellow gown of 2015? Well, this year she was popping as ever in her pope-mobile and papal styled custom, bedazzled milter, shimmering and silver gown designed by Maison Margiela. Her makeup highlights were popping as ever under the lights in Fenty!  Fenty wins all day every day! The total look deserves an award.

Keltie Knight:  The ET host glammed up after her recent car crash to be live on the red carpet, showing off her remarkably black tulle Paolo Sebastien dress marked with celestial stars and Courtney Prince earrings. What remarkable beauty.

Katy Perry: she just has to wow us all in her heavenly angel wings. Arriving in a giant feathered wing and a chainmail short gold gown designed by Versace, paired on high heeled boots. We wondered whether our angel needed holy guidance on how to seat in those wings.

Sarah Jessica Parker: Our forever queen of Sex and the city, decided to go for a Dolce and Gabbana dress and cape, covered in ornate gold embroideries. The headpiece was that of a nativity-scene styled. I wondered if that was heavy but I can say that it was indeed one of the best headpieces at the event.

Jared Leto and Lana Del Rey walked in Jesus and Mary themed look and outfit, with Jared embracing his Jesus-like facial hair, in a blue Gucci velvet suit and a crown, Gucci-Jesus? Naa... Jesus is a black man.

Cardi B: Girl!! She came to her very first Gala event making it all look so easy to glam up with confidence. The hip-hop star and fashion's new darling, attended the event, arm in arm with designer Jeremy Scot as her date and boy did they cause a show-stopping stare!  The Moschino outfit was covered in ornate jewels and beads from the regal headpiece, the dress, the gloves and to the neck piece. Could you tell it was her first event?

Winnie Harlow: I have been in love with this girl with a difference since I first saw her Instagram pic way before she became a model, and the model in her just keeps getting brighter. For this evening, my girl turned to Tommy Hilfiger for a timeless white gown and a dramatic headpiece, one of those that stole the night. Well done girl.

Jasmine Sanders: The hair all woven up in tiny rose petals, stole the night, the golden barbie hairstyle was incredibly stylish and insane! Take a closer look below. Her golden saint gown was styled by H&M and for a first gala, she did not disappoint.

Jenifer Lopez: The 48 years old ever look 15 years younger J-Lo(ever making the young people look older...... huh!)  stormed the gala with her new beau Alex Rodriquez in a Balmain gown detailed with blue, gold and red jewels in the shape of a cross, a feathered skirt in a very high slit, the kind of style loved by J-lo.

Rita Ora: Some are angels and some are the devil's advocate. Rita caused a dramatic stir and stop in her all-black ensemble by Prada with a floral style, a mini off look yellow bag, and a regal crown. Is it just me or would you agree that she's giving off some Beyonce kind of flair or moves?

Madonna - Queen all day, every day. Still young and herself. In all black with a black rose.

Jaden Smith: The Smith heir is growing, we must say...

Pharrell Williams: Finally it seems we will be seeing some aging in the ever young star, lol.

Hope you enjoyed the few pictures for your delight and perhaps some style inspiration and adaptations.
