So lets say you have a presentation to give or you are looking to catch the attention of a particular someone or even that you have to get a new job and you must attend an interview. Then you absolutely need to look your best. What do you do? Well, in this write up, am not talking about the big things such as the clothing to buy or where to purchase. But the little things which we often miss or take for granted.
It is always the little things that make the most difference. Certain Faux pas, as we know it in French and English can be damaging to your entire look or style. They are in no particular order though I will start from the outfit, an important aspect of your style.
1. Wearing Crispy, Un-ironed Clothing

What can you do to make it better? Hang your clothes immediately they are dried, if you don't have hangers, there are loads of wrinkle free folding methods that can work with your wardrobe and for travelling purposes. Don't like ironing? Use the dryer, wrap your clothing item around some ice cubes and throw them in the drier. The ice cubes will act as the steam in the drier and the clothing comes out unwrinkled.
2. Too Many Weapon Accessories

Women are mostly culprits here. .... yes ladies, of-course men are too :)
In as much as accessories are essential to your look or style, keep it minimal and simple. There is no need to pile up so many accessories on any simple outfit, it will make you look more tacky than neat. A simple accessory such as a bangle, a pair of sunglasses or even a scarf can go a long way on an outfit in pulling it all together. The trick? Well, Just a simple eye catching accessory is all that is needed.
3. Wearing Under-sized or Over-sized Clothing and Shoes

How do you avoid this problem? Ensure the you know that each clothing vendor has different garment sizing policy so make sure that you are not using one size for all stores except of course you have confirmed that their sizes are same.
Take time to try on clothes, I usually like shopping for clothes when I have the time to try them on - I try to see it as fun times and for times when I have to do cloth shopping, I ensure that I wear a piece of clothing that I can easily take off. If you don't have the time to try on the clothing make sure the the return policies are fare for return and that you will be able to return them within the time specified.
These applies to shoes as well. Over-sized and too tight shoes are an error. Try them on and ensure they are comfortable before buying. They can also be very hazardous to you as a person from injuries from falls to health problems.
4. Wearing Faded Clothing - Old clothing and Whites That Isn't White Anymore.

Unfortunately, doing the above does not only make you look messy but mostly, it makes you look like an unclean person. While it will be difficult to restore colour on other coloured fabrics, with whites you can always purchase a bleach, baking soda or hydrogen peroxide and make sure that once you start, its important that you use that consistently. Try to avoid a hue on your white shirt.
For other coloured or old clothing please do away with them.
5. Messy Nails

Not taking good care of your nails, wether it be that you are male or female, can be a disaster. I know that many think that the finger nails are often not easily seen by others but this is not the truth. Your nails are part of the body easily accessed by others when looking at you. A manicure is always a cure that can transform the fingers from a bare look to that of a neat Beyonce flair!! hehehe...... I said it.
Avoid those chips in the polish. Rather than have that, clean off the polish or repaint on the polish if you are in a hurry.
Will post more in the coming posts, better yet if you want to learn more on this.... drop a comment below.
