ENVY OF LIFE

Envy ...... , One specie of human destruction. It destroys self, homes and families beyond recognition. It is a major tool the enemy uses to break bonds and foster ones downfall. The sad story is too many people look down on envy as been harmless but guess what it's usually the start of all problems.

Want to know another sad part? ....


All of us have been guilty from it, in one way or the other, how else do you think we know it when we see it in operation. The saddest part is when you are not aware of it while you actually portray it..... this can only mean one thing it has crept way too deep into your heart and spirit.

Why write about this? well friends, you see last night I suddenly realized that so many people talk about others envying them but never admit to having envied others or still envying others.
I then noticed that this is only so because many people are not aware and refuse to recognize the signs that portrays envy when it shows up in their lives or personality.

Before I point you to the signs to note when you start getting envious, I want to quickly push your eyes to what the Bible says about Envy:

Proverbs 14:30 ESV

A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.

Newsflash from the above text, Envy makes you sick, eats away your happiness and worth. How then do you know you have an envious spirit that you need to tame?

1.  You always manage to find something wrong to say, or lament about that person to someone or in your heart.....lets face it no one can read your heart, why not change that thought about that person?
2.  You feel you can never work with that person, they are too difficult and you can ascribe up to 3 negative attributes to that person without a single proof to support your accusations. So who says that person cannot prove 5 negative attributes about you? Guess what they are too busy with their lives to think of you.
3. When your conversations in a day has to start and end with them in it and with negative discuss often..... then you better check yourself before you wreck yourself.
4. You want or do what they have  or an experience they have been through, so you could feel like them or let people see you as them.  ...News flash you are about to wreck your destiny for another.
5. You have no good words for them, no matter what they do. And you wonder why you are not being appreciated?  common practice Christianity for a change?
6. You feel like they are oppressive and want to rule over you , they always have to be different etc. Well, its because they are leaders truly, that's what you admire about them, and you are a leader yourself, if you could only annex yours and focus on your gifts then learn from them without being spiteful.
7. You find yourself always wanting to outshine them either in outfits or anything else. Whenever you are dressing up, you have to think I need to look fly or flier...looool than Mr Alvin......naaaa, stop it!!!   Be you and Do you, because you is Gorg!!!
8. You always want to show off in front of them. ....eeish! that person is way too distracted with her life to notice you.
9. You think you are better than them or do/act better or you are more intelligent etc...... Guess what the world didn't change when you were born, its the same earth and you ain't a different specie of humans.
10. Finally, you secretly want them gone, either to leave that place, to die or to just vanish so you can be happy! My dear if you wish this last one, know you are an epic envier....lol, you need Jesus!! to change you. Happiness is in you not in another

The key here is to change  your mindset on people, people will be to you what you see them to be and guess what you are all those things that you see in them..... . So if you see GOOD that's who you are, you see BAD, that's you because you are part people.

Quit eating up your soul and body while the other persons get nourished. Just speak, make up and be friends. I know you may be wondering, what can I say to this persons to get started without feeling awkward. Want to know a very easy ice breaker that never fails?  Talk about God.....Yes, it could be a question or an observation but don't talk about you or them. God is always a neutraliser and healer.

Then be true to yourself, no one sees the actions you take in your heart; and make up your mind to change totally from that attribute, how? Start with a prayer....this never fails! A simple prayer like: My Father God, I want you to take the spirit of envy away from me; repeat it a few times and you shall be free indeed.
