This title came from one of the write ups by The Sun Newspaper United Kingdom. They reported in 2011 that Maggie, (Margaret Thatcher )as fondly called by most brits, wrote that she would be using her own household items, in her words; "own cookery and excellent Ironing board" when she assumed office as Prime Minister in 1979 for fear that her political enemies might spark an expenses row over refurbishment works, well done madame.
I have always admired Margaret Thatcher despite all the criticism that came her way, while I was younger still I kept it as a secret to my heart when I had no words to defend her and saw that she was not a favourite of many...lol, oh little me! I must not fail to mention that my women of inspiration are Margaret Thatcher, Princess Diana, Condoleezza Rice, just to mention a few, those to me are mighty women of valour and high classic fashion.
Many fail to realize that Maggie was a woman who loved fashion and had a strong taste in it. She was fashionable with an attitude for the career woman that many a career women, first ladies and even monarchs looked to the dress sense of Maggie for style. Maggie was a power dresser, "the original power dresser" she wore the skirt suits like no other did adorned by her famous pearls and pussy bow blouses and of course her handbags.
Margaret Thatcher at the Conservative Party in 1976 |
A daughter of a dressmaker herself, Maggie loved to dress up and look good, though she waited until she married her wealthy husband Denis, before she could start to indulge in the world of expensive fashion as much as she could love.
And even in her old age, Maggie still showed her love for fashion.
